The State Bank of India has released the admit cards for all candidates who submitted online applications for the recruitment of 6,160 Posts of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act of 1961. SBI is set to conduct an Online Exam for all applicants of the Apprentices Recruitment. Candidates participating in this recruitment can download their admit cards for the examination from the official web portal once they are released. It’s important to note that no one will be allowed to appear in the examination without the original admit card.

Selection Process of SBI Recruitment

The selection process of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act of 1961 will include an online written examination (online objective type), local language test and medical examination.

Online Written Test

The online written test will consist of objective-type questions for 100 marks. The duration of the online written test is 1 hour and it consists of 4 sections. The structure of the online written examination would be as follows.

Negative Marking: There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for each question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage mark on aggregate (For SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwBD candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be as decided by the Bank. There are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects. The merit list will be drawn state-wise and category-wise. Candidates qualified in the test will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories. In case more than one candidate scores the same marks as cut-off marks in the merit list (common marks at cut-off point) such candidates will be ranked in the merit list according to their age in descending order in respective States and categories.

Test of Local Language

The specified local languages of the states are mentioned in the Para A of the advertisement. The candidates applying for training seats in a particular state should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in any one of the specified local languages of that state as mentioned in Para A of the advertisement. The test for knowledge of the specified opted local language will be conducted as a part of the selection process. It will be conducted after qualifying for the online written examination. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be engaged as apprentices. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test. Candidates will have to appear for the test of the specified opted local language at a centre (to be decided by the Bank) of the State applied for, at his/her own expense. The SBI will not reimburse or bear any travelling expenses that may be incurred by the candidate for attending the said test.

Medical Examination

Engagement of selected apprentices is subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank.
